FAQs

Can Ninja CM400 and CM401 make an espresso coffee?

The two coffee makers make only regular non-pressurized coffee and when coffee is not made under pressure, it doesn’t count as espresso. However, in the specialty mode, you can brew concentrated coffee which you can use as a base for an espresso. Again, the drink will not taste as good as espresso and if you really want espresso we’d recommend you get an espresso maker. On the other hand, espresso makers are expensive and hard on the pocket so sticking to one of these two machines would be economical as well.

Is Ninja CM400 and CM401 programmable?

The Ninja CM400 and CM401 is not fully programmable machines but it does give you some choices as to what you can make and how much of it. You can choose from 6 different brew sizes and 4 different brew styles. You can also schedule a brew for your morning cup of coffee so you can get ready without having to worry about missing your early meetings. The stay warm feature keeps the coffee warm for few hours but overall the machines are not as programmable as some fully automated and autonomous coffee makers available in the market.

What are the things to take care of in terms of cleaning and maintenance?

In terms of machines’ care, here are a few easy points that you can take care in order to have your machine up and running for longer than expected.

  • Avoid spilling coffee over the control panel and digital display
  • Always wipe the exterior with a damp cloth
  • Always wash the carafe with a soapy solution
  • Descale the machine every week with white vinegar and water

Conclusion

It’s a close competition as you see. The CM400 and CM401 have similar features, functions, design, and build quality. The only edge CM401 has over CM400 is that it comes with two options to pick from. You can either go for a glass carafe which we would not recommend or you can go with the thermal carafe version which is definitely a wise choice. Do leave a comment and let us know what do you think of the two machines and which is your choice?
